FIELDTRIP REPORTS

1)    Fieldtrip to Nogales, Mexico and the US/Mexico border

On March 31st, most of the class joined this all-day fieldtrip, led by staff from BorderLinks, a Tucson-based, bi-national non-profit organization specializing in experiential education that raises awareness to build bridges of solidarity across North and Latin American borders and promote intercultural understanding and respect. Read our trip reports to see what we experienced and learned!

2)   Fieldtrips to alternative US/Mexico 'border' sites inside metro Phoenix

Students unable to join the Borderlinks trip did fieldwork observations at sites along the US/Mexico 'border' interior to the city. Here we conceived of the border as a zone of interaction where the United States and Mexico come together, intersect, butt up against or bleed into each other, whether in an easy blend or a contentious edginess.  Read our trip reports to see what we experienced and learned!
